Joshua Blackburn Writer Photographer Maker

Joshua Blackburn is the inventor and Question-Writer-in-Chief of League of the Lexicon, the most successful word game in Kickstarter history. He is also the author of The Language-Lover's Lexipedia (Bloomsbury / Avid Press 2025), and the League of the Lexicon Junior Edition (Two Brothers Games, 2023).

Before inventing word games, Joshua ran Provokateur, an award-winning communications agency for charities. During this time he published Acme Climate Action (Fourth Estate, 2008). It won a D&AD 'pencil' and was a finalist at the British Book Design Awards.

As well as a boardgame publisher and accidental linguist, Joshua is a photographer, whose book, Launderama (Hoxton Mini Press, 2018) is a beautiful and poignant portrait of London's launderettes. His work has been exhibited at The Design Museum and The Other Art Fair, and been featured in The Observer, Creative Review, Slate and more.

Joshua is represented by Jennifer Joel at CAA. You can also contact him here. Everything else can be found on Linktree.
